Fast Lane Super Stock Series Completes Final Season
by Nick Gima
Ashland, WI, August 15 – In a heartfelt and emotional “thank you” to its drivers, tracks, sponsors and fans, the directors of the FastLane Motorsports Northland Super Stock Series announced the conclusion of the Series on Saturday night at the ABC Raceway.
In a prepared statement, Series director Dennis McCauley expressed his appreciation for the support given to the Series during its 12-year run, citing that it had become “the best attended series in the country.”
“The mission of the Series has always been the same,” McCauley noted in his statement, which was read to the fans in attendance after the Victory Lane interview with 2026 champion Dylan Nelson of Merrifield, MN. “To put some money in the pockets of the drivers, while putting on a great show for the fans and the tracks that host us.”
McCauley’s statement pointed out that the Series’ run concluded with 69 total races over the past 12 seasons, held at 14 different WISSOTA-sanctioned tracks. The events averaged over 36 entries each, and over 300 total drivers participated in at least one race. The Series paid out over $300,000 in total purse overall, and countless contingency prizes had been awarded.
The Series began in 2015 with race programs at three tracks, in Superior and Ashland, WI, and Proctor, MN, but quickly grew to include tracks throughout the Upper Midwest and Canada. Earlier this season a Series-record 82 WISSOTA Super Stocks competed at the Hibbing (MN) Speedway for the Tardy Memorial, which also saw a record-setting payout for a FastLane Series event, topped by a $6,767 winner’s share.
Along with his appreciation for the drivers, tracks, sponsors, contributors and fans who were vital to the success of the Series, McCauley also thanked his co-director Chris Bretting and Series points director and statistician John Kimmes for their hard work, and his wife Patty for her support.
Nelson’s 2026 championship was his second in the Series, adding to the one he earned in 2022. Other two-time Series champs include Curt Myers (2015, ’25), Dave Mass (2017, ’19), and Shane Sabraski (2020, ’23). Single-time Series champs include Scott Lawrence (2016), Kevin Burdick (2018), Dave Flynn (2021), and Dexton Koch (2024).
