Points Titles Decided by Rain Out

Mom Nature Decides ’25 Points Titles as ABC Raceway Finale Washed Out

by Nick Gima

Ashland, WI, August 16 – Significant overnight rainfall and an unfavorable forecast for more precipitation in the Chequamegon Bay area during Saturday forced members of the Board of Directors of the ABC Raceway to cancel the track’s final night of the 2025 regular season here.

The Raceway’s five divisional points titles were to be finalized on Championship Saturday Night, presented by the Safari Tavern of Ashland, but the facility, which was left with areas of standing water and saturated parking and pit areas, could not have been prepared well enough for an enjoyable night of racing for fans and race teams.

The ABC Raceway wishes to congratulate its five 2025 track champions – Justin Weinberger of Elk Mound in the Fuhrman Designs WISSOTA Modifieds; Ashland’s Steve Stuart in the Lightning Storm Graphics WISSOTA Super Stocks; Marcus Dunbar of Marenisco, MI, in the Dalbeck Sales WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds; Amery’s Eric Crosby in the WISSOTA Pure Stocks; and Shane Basina of Bayfield in the Berglund Designs ABC Six-Cylinders.

A more detailed release celebrating this year’s champions will be forthcoming.

The Raceway’s staff and workers will spend the next few weeks preparing the facility for its 50th annual Red Clay Classic, presented by Embridge, which is coming up on Friday & Saturday, September 26-27. One of the Upper Midwest’s most prestigious short-track stock car racing events, this year’s version will offer a record total purse of over $250,000 to WISSOTA Late Models, Modifieds, Super Stocks and Midwest Modifieds.

More info on the RCC will be released in the near future.

The ABC Raceway is located 3-1/2 miles south of Ashland on State Highway 13 and one mile west on Butterworth Road. For raceday information call (715) 682-4990, log on to the track’s website, www.abcraceway.com, or check out its FaceBook page.
