Reserved Seats, Pit Spots, Camp Sites Now Available for Red Clay Classic
Ashland, WI - Reserved seating, camping and pit spots are now available for the 35th annual Red Clay, Classic, to be held Friday and Saturday, October 1-2, at the ABC Raceway in Ashland.
The Northland’s traditional end-of-season stock car racing event will feature WISSOTA-sanctioned late models in their only appearance on Ashland’s three-eighths-mile red-clay oval in 2010, with the action culminating in a 50-lap feature on that Saturday night paying $4,000 to win. In addition, the event will play host to the championship round of the Como Oil & Propane Modified Series for the fifth straight year. The Series will this year pay out a purse in excess of $54,000, with a $10,000 check being awarded to the Series champ on the ABC front straightaway.
Also in action will be the WISSOTA super stocks, which regularly compete in huge numbers at the Classic, and this year the WISSOTA Midwest modifieds will compete, thus adding a fourth division for the first time in the event’s history.
Over 200 cars are expected to compete for a total purse anticipated to be in excess of $75,000.
